Stardates in Google Calendar

Checking my Google Calendar this morning, I found that Google had automatically added a new alendar; Stardates. Wonder if it has anything to do with the premiere of Star Trek here in Norway today?

This happened to me to. I have Us-Holidays and Phases of the Moon previously installed but not my co-workers and they didn’t get the Stardate Calendar

Did you have an event with the words “Star Trek” somewhere in your calendar?

Same here – have holidays and moon phases – but I do have a event that the new movie opens today – wondre if that is what triggered the add?

Yes, I do have an event with the name “Star Trek premiere” in my calender, so that might be what triggered it :)

Does anyone know how the Stardates are calculated? Today’s (May 8, 2009) is 01210.00. I didn’t think there were supposed to be two decimal places, but I could be wrong. And I’m not sure where the other numbers came from. Can anyone help?
