Hove 2009

The Hove Festival 2009 is over – I am exhausted! It has been four incredible days with lots of good music, beer and sun. We could not have asked for better weather and my geeky white skin is long gone! Among the best concerts this year was The Killers (no surprise really), Ratatat, Little Boots, [...]

Opera 10 Beta (really?)

Opera 10 Beta 1 was released earlier this week, after several iterations of snapshot and alpha releases. I was quick to download the beta (even before they got “Ubuntu” up as an option for 64-bit Linux versions), backed up my Opera data folder and installed. The reason I have titled this post with “(really?)” is [...]

Aleksander and I have finally gotten a blog up for our trip through Europe this summer. We’ll do our best to keep the blog updated with planning info before we leave, and frequent updates during the trip – hopefully also with pictures and perhaps a small video or two Head on over to http://europebaby.jaranweb.com/ and [...]

iTunes Agent 1.3.1

I have just released a new update for iTunes Agent. This new version is a minor update, introducing a few features which should prevent some users from experiencing data loss due to misconfiguration. For more information on the update and download, check out the project website over on Sourceforge.

Checking my Google Calendar this morning, I found that Google had automatically added a new alendar; Stardates. Wonder if it has anything to do with the premiere of Star Trek here in Norway today? A geeky curiosity from Google

The Hunt for Gollum

I’ve just finished watching “The Hunt for Gollum” – an independent movie made by fans of J.R.R. Tolkien and his work. The producers claim to have spent only $3000 on the film, and I must say I would have believed them if they said 10 times that. The movie was released on May 3rd online, [...]

Happy 15th birthday, Opera!

The Opera Web Browser is celebrating it’s 15th birthday these days! I’ve been using the browser for 7 of these, and never once regreted it. It’s solid, it’s lightning fast and I’ve been able to use most features other browsers are announcing as “innovative” today, for many years. Recently I’ve also become a frequent user [...]

A few cosmetic changes

I’ve changed a few things on my blog today. Mostly these are small cosmetic changes, and won’t change navigation patterns. If you have any feedback, please leave a comment or twitter me @jarannilsen. Changes include: A “social media” bar on the top of the page with links to my profiles on the social media sites [...]
