On Friday we had our Summer party with Integrasco. What a blast! It turned out a great evening with lots of good food, lots to drink, a good game of Kubb and generally just a great party – Integrasco style!

The Opera Web Browser is celebrating it’s 15th birthday these days! I’ve been using the browser for 7 of these, and never once regreted it. It’s solid, it’s lightning fast and I’ve been able to use most features other browsers are announcing as “innovative” today, for many years.

Recently I’ve also become a frequent user of Opera Mini and Opera Mobile on my cell phone and my browsing habits have never been more pleased. With Opera Mobile 9.5 beta Widgets came to mobile devices as well, and I’ve especially grown fond of the Twitter Widget. With Opera Link, I now have all my bookmarks, speed dial and notes with me wherever I go.

I’ve started using Twitter lately. Actually I have had an account for about half a year, but it was not untill a few months back when I really started to use it.

I was one of those Twitter-sceptic people. Looking at it saying, “naaaaaah – what’s the use of that?” Why would people want to know every bloody thing I am doing?

The fact is that with proper use this new concept of micro-blogging is a great way to stay updated and keep your network updated about what’s going on. Of course, no one – or at least very few people – are interested in the fact that you’re going to the loo. However, when used properly services like Twitter is a great way to stay in touch. Keep your network updated on events, make short statements, ask for assistance – there’s actually many possibilities. I am starting to really love it

Another side of this micro-blogging is the power of information sharing. Because these messages are short (usually 160 characters or less), it’s suddenly much easier to post from anywhere – your cellphone has become a much more useful blogging tool! A great example was the plane that went down in the Hudson river in New York yesterday. Before any news station probably had images or even a clue that a plane had crashed, reports were already flowing on Twitter. The picture in the feed linked above is probably one of the first pictures available of the plane and the passengers, from right after the plane went down. This way of quickly spreading information is also something which makes this kind of service extremely powerful.

Today I also tested a service called TwitPic today (after discovering the foto from the plane crash). It allows you to e-mail pictures to an address and the picture is then added to your Twitter feed with the subject of the e-mail as description. Great when you’re out with your phone and want to share something
